They say “the best way to explore a culture is to sit at its table”. We take it a step further: we think you should taste its wine, too.
Welcome, I’m Joep, the founder, Chief Taste Officer, and jet-setter behind The Pairing Passport. This website was born out of a simple obsession: the belief that travel isn’t just about the monuments you see, but the flavours that linger long after you’ve come home. To me, a perfect day isn’t just finding a hidden cobblestone alleyway in Piedmonte, it’s knowing exactly which local Nebbiolo and Brasato al Barolo is waiting for you at the end of it.
What we do (and why)
Let’s be honest, planning a trip can be pretty exhausting. There are millions of tourist traps waiting for you as “authentic experiences” and a wine list that looks more like a book full of hieroglyphs.
The Pairing Passport is your cheat sheet to the good stuff
- Curated Culinary Guides: from night markets in Vietnam to Michelin star dinners in Barcelona.
- Wine Travel Itineraries: deep dives into famous wine regions like Barolo, or the lesser-known Priorat region.
- The Perfect Pairings: practical advice on how to bring those local flavours into your kitchen.
Our philosophy on recommendations
We hand-pick every hotel, food tour, luggage brand, and wine gadget recommended on this site. Whenever you click a link and book an experience or buy a product we love, The Pairing Passport might earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the lights on and the wine glasses full, and we promise to never recommend something we wouldn’t suggest to our own best friends.
Grab your glass and let’s go
Whether you’re planning a luxury honeymoon in the vineyards of Mendoza or just looking for the best street foods in Bangkok, you’ve got a seat at our table.
